Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Beaujolais Villages is the appellation for red, white and rosé wines from a zone made up of 38 villages in the north of Beaujolais. The hilly terrain and granite soil here is considered superior to that of the flatter lands in the south and as a result, Beaujolais Villages wines are considered to be of a higher quality than those of the straight Beaujolais appellation.

The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. When the Domaine Chapel Beaujolais-Villages grapes reach the winery, they are meticulously selected and, keeping all of the stems on, they undergo a semi-carbonic maceration. The wine is then aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulpites.

Domaine Chapel is a natural, organic and vegan red wine made with the Gamay variety in the AOC Beaujolais-Villages denomination in France by Domaine Chapel. The son of one of France’s leading chefs, David Chapel and his wife Michelle decided to set up their own project in the village of Régnié. With organic vineyards located in the best parts of Beaujolais, they produce delicious and high-quality wines. These are natural productions whose main hallmark is the elegance they exude.Domaine Chapel Beaujolais-Villages comes from various plots of decomposed granite sand lying 380-440 metres above sea level. The vines are between 40 and 50 years old and are grown organically and without the use of chemical products that could damage the environment. Michele Smith and David Chapel met in Beaujolais, whilst Michele was on holiday and David was working at Lapierre. After some time in New York, where, most recently, Michele was the Wine Director for Brooklyn Fare they moved back to Beaujolais to become vignerons. Their first vintage, 2016 Julienas Côte de Bessay, was vinified at Lapierre whilst they were still searching for their own cellars. In 2017 with their new family home and cellars in Régnié-Durette they started on the new vintage, introducing a Beaujolais Villages from fruit in nearby Lantignié from organically farmed vineyards.
