Return and Refund Policy

Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Sonoma County is one of the United States' most important wine regions. Vines have been grown here since the 1850s and, apart from the inevitable history brought about by Prohibition, the county's relationship with wine has been prolific and unbroken.

"Lyra” is one of the oldest and brightest constellations found in California, arriving as the vines awaken back to life and departing at harvest. Lyra Pinot Noir is a barrel selection from some of our favorite vineyard sites within the Sonoma Coast. Fruit harvested by hand in early September and hand-sorted and gently de-stemmed to keep whole berries intact, with 35% whole-cluster inclusion. Wine are fermented using natural yeast then wine is aged for 11 months in 25% new oak. Lyra is bottled unfined and lightly filtered.

Marine Layer Wines is a longtime dream of visionary Baron Ziegler. Through years of working with friend and winemaker Rob Fischer at Banshee Wines, Baron knew that Rob would be the perfect guy to help make his dream a reality. Together, their vision of creating a Sonoma Coast-focused brand, exclusively sourced from only the best vineyards in the region, came to life.

The distinctive name, “Marine Layer,” pays homage to the thick blanket of fog that pours in from the Pacific along the Sonoma Coast. Known for cooler temperatures and extreme conditions, growing grapes in this region is undoubtedly challenging, yet the most rewarding. Longer hangtime for the grapes results in nuanced flavors, bright acidity, and balance.
