Return and Refund Policy

Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Delivery and Shipping

One of Piedmont's greatest wine regions, Barbaresco rarely gets mentioned without a reference to its neighbor Barolo. Both are among the best expressions of the Nebbiolo grape and where Barolo can be austere and tannic, Barbaresco can be its warmer, more approachable counterpoint.

The Barbaresco DOCG I Patriarchi is the result of a blend from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the best cru-vineyards in the Neive area. Grapes are manually harvested in the first decade of October (about 10th October). Fermentation and 12 days traditional maceration. About 30 months ageing in French oak barrels.

Francone Vini started by following Alberto (class of 1892 who ran an inn near Turin) an early pioneer of Francone wines in Piemonte. Giovanni Battista took the company over from his mother Teresa and began making wine in 1940. In Neive, in 1964, Giovanni Battista and his sons Mauro and Silvano fulfilled their dream of building an imposing new winery, where the company is still based today.

Our passion for winemaking and wine has been handed down from generation to generation, and the family and the region’s history is now displayed in the winery’s museum in the form of old unique artefacts, utensils and tools used to turn grapes into wine. Today, still a tight family business, the brothers Marco and Fabrizio Francone, with the invaluable help of dad Mauro, manage the vineyards and the winery.
