Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Blends for this cuvee is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and alcoholic fermentation happens at controlled temperature (25°-28°) in stainless steel vats. Aged for 12 months 30% to 40% new barrels depending on the vintage. Average production Château Picque Caillou La Réserve de Picque Caillou Rouge is about 20,000- 30,000 bottles depending on vintage conditions.

Picque-Caillou Castle is located in an old vineyard already present on the maps of Cassini and Belleyme which date from the end of the 18th century. Jean Laclotte, a famous architect of his time, built Picque Caillou in 1756.

Coming from a long line of Bordeaux merchants, Paulin Calvet arrived in 2006 to give Picque Caillou a boost. This one is at the age of maturity where the taste becomes more refined and precise. In 2007, Paulin Calvet asked Valérie Lavigne, consultant oenologist, to surround the new team and provide her expertise and rigorous technical assistance. It is by favoring race, elegance, purity of taste that respects the fruit and the balance of flavors that Paulin Calvet and his team guide and shape each new vintage. Being the guarantor of the quality of his different vintages, Paulin Calvet monitors the production of his wine daily, thus a wine of high lineage is born, remarkable for its balance and delicacy.
