Corked Wines
While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Grape(s): Nebbiolo
Vintage: 2016
Type: Red Wine
Volume: 750ml
A small wine region, often compared to neighboring Ghemme, Gattinara produces bone-dry Nebbiolo from the foothills of the Alps. Enticing scents of rose, blue flower and perfumed berry mingle with whiffs of alpine herb and camphor on this fragrant red. Medium bodied and loaded with finesse and energy, the elegant palate doles out ripe black cherry, licorice and tobacco before closing a mineral note suggesting iron. Polished tannins and bright acidity provide lithe support. This wine carries winery's historic label and best represents the territory of Gattinara, according to the Travaglini family's vision and passion. Nose of soft floral aromas, from violets to rose petals, taking on spicy and balsamic notes over time. Its finish offers hints of minerals and iron at times. Flavours are elegant with a balance between freshness, barely outlined noble tannins and a subtle, infinite persistence of small red fruits, flowers and fruit jellies. Pairs with red meat, game, and hard cheeses. Serve at 18-20 °C. Good to drink now or keep for longer cellaring.
