Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

The 2008 Philipponnat Clos des Goisses is a distinguished and highly esteemed champagne, known for its exceptional quality and unique character. Produced by Philipponnat, a respected champagne house with a deep-rooted history dating back to the 16th century, the Clos des Goisses is their flagship cuvée, sourced from a single, steep, south-facing vineyard known for its distinctive microclimate and chalky soil. The 2008 vintage stands out due to the exceptional weather conditions of the year, which were ideal for producing grapes with excellent balance, acidity, and aromatic maturity. This champagne is typically a blend of about 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, reflecting the house's preference for a Pinot Noir-dominant style, and is known for its low dosage, which allows the purity and intensity of the terroir to shine through.

Visually, the 2008 Clos des Goisses presents a striking golden yellow color with a fine, persistent mousse, indicative of its quality and the meticulous winemaking process it undergoes. The bouquet is complex and intense, offering a rich tapestry of aromas such as ripe orchard fruits, citrus zest, honey, and a distinctive minerality that speaks to its unique vineyard origins. On the palate, it is both powerful and refined, with a remarkable depth of flavor and a perfect balance between the rich, creamy texture and the crisp, refreshing acidity. This vintage is particularly noted for its precision, structure, and the long, lingering finish, making it a standout choice for both immediate enjoyment and long-term aging potential. The 2008 Clos des Goisses is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of Philipponnat and is highly sought after by champagne aficionados and collectors around the world.
