Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Domaine Armelle & Bernard Rion Nuits-Saint-Georges 2018 offers a refined combination of depth, structure, and Côte de Nuits charm. Deep ruby in color, the nose is expressive—black cherry, wild berry, and red currant, woven with rose petal, forest floor, spice, and a subtle hint of licorice. The palate is medium-bodied, featuring firm but polished tannins, lively acidity, and flavors of ripe red and black fruits, savory earthy notes, and gentle vanilla-tinged oak. The finish is persistent and complex, balancing the wine’s inherent energy and power with inviting approachability—classic Nuits-Saint-Georges with a modern, elegant touch.

The Domaine RION was founded in 1896 by Pierre Rion, the ex-sharecropper of the Château de la Berchère who had acquired the Château’s vines. His son Louis succeeded him, and during his time, he substantially enlarged the Domaine. Bernard Rion has helped his father since 1973 and now manages the Domaine with his wife Armelle and his daughter Alice.

Our vineyards are located in some of the most prestigious villages of the Cote de Nuits: Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits Saint Geroges and Vougeot. Since 2006, Alice makes the wines with Bernard, who so transmits her his knowledge. The husband of Alice, Louis, joined her on the Domaine in 2010, and takes care gradually of the work into the vineyards, always under Bernard’s eye.
