Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Santa Barbara County occupies a roughly rectangular area at the southern end of California's Central Coast region. It has a long history of wine production with the first vineyards planted in 1782. More recently, it was the filming location for the wine-based film Sideways, released in 2004. Los Alamos is a single vineyard, just 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean, lies between the cool Santa Maria Valley to the north and the warmer Santa Ynez Valley to the south. Historical site as the first Au Bon Climat winery was a small barn on the Los Alamos Vineyard property in 1982. True to Los Alamos wine region, this Pinot has a dense, straight forward fruit character. The aromas of ripe berries, bitter chocolate, with a whiff of fresh
herbs. Wine was aged in French oak (33% new) for 18months. The silky tannins and the rich mouthfeel show the quality of this wine. Enjoy now or cellar for more years. Pairs well with simple seasoned pork of bird or classic salmon.

Au Bon Climat is a Californian estate with an international reputation for its Burgundian-styled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines made predominantly in Santa Barbara County.

Owner-winemaker Jim Clendenen was one of the best-known figures in the American wine industry. From the beginning in 1982, Au Bon Climat winery was totally devoted to making classical wines. The convergence of cool, brisk Pacific air, marine-based soils, and east-west running valleys of the area provided an ideal place for growing exceptional grapes. Hence the name “Au Bon Climat,” the French idiom for “good place”. Hand-picked grapes are harvested at a sugar level that encourages the wine to age slowly. These are not flashy, exaggerated wines. Rather, they are layered, well-structured wines that give you a smile when you take a sip.
