Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Sonoma County is one of the United States' most important wine regions. Vines have been grown here since the 1850s and, apart from the inevitable history brought about by Prohibition, the county's relationship with wine has been prolific and unbroken.

Grapes are hand-harvested and night-picked from a few select vineyards in the 3 different areas in California - Sonoma Coast, Russian River, and Petaluma Gap. 100% of the wine was fermented in barrel, with full spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged in 100% French oak barrels, 25% of which were new, with occasional lees stirring. The wine aged for 10 months in barrel before the final blend was assembled.

Valravn is a young winery established in 2014 by Baron Ziegler who is a native of Minnesota who began buying Bordeaux futures at the age of 15. Later, the sales funded the down payment for a Boston condo while in college at Boston University. By 21 he was managing three stores and purchasing wines by the container. Baron then deferred medical school to work for a James Beard award-winning wine importer, Eric Solomon. After managing most of the East Coast for five years, he took over the role of national sales director, where he ran all aspects of sales for the next five years.

The winemaker, Rob Fischer is a native of Napa, Rob had no plans to pursue the valley’s natural professional path in winemaking, but that quickly changed when he landed a job in the tasting room at Domaine Carneros. What was intended to be a summer job soon turned into a series of fortuitous opportunities that quickly jumpstarted Rob’s winemaking career. After many years of wine trainings, Rob joined Etude Wines in 2009 as associate winemaker, and for the next 9 years advanced to winemaker positions at Etude, Lyric and Beaulieu Vineyards (Treasury Estates) and Valravn.
