Return Policy

To protect the provenance of delivered wines, exchange and returns are not allowed.

Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Noto is a small Italian DOC in the south of the Siracusa province in eastern Sicily, focused onNero d'Avola for red wines. It is becoming more of a fashionable Sicilian grape to try.

Zisola is made only from traditional "Alberello" (bush) vines grown near Noto, an unique area to make wine. The proximity of the sea and the soil rich in limestone allow to best balance the natural Nero d'Avola exuberance, with a great freshness and elegance.

Grapes were hand picked from September 23rd and aged for 10 months in small French oak barrels (33% new). Bottling was done in November 2020 and released in the following year.

Zisola is an estate located in South-East Sicily, the land of origin of the Nero d'Avola vine only a few steps from Noto, famous for its baroque buildings and Unesco World Heritage Site.

A property of 50 hectares, the area extends around the 3 buildings "bagli" of the estate, of which the main one enjoys a wonderful view over Noto and the surrounding "gardens" cultivated with vineyards, citrus trees, olives, and almonds. Here a small but efficient winery is provided with stainless steel vats with temperature control for winemaking and about 350 oak barrels for fining the wines. Winery is 50 ha in total with 24 ha vinea planted in traditional sicilian cultivation. Nero d’Avola grape mother country.

The Mazzei family, acclaimed in Tuscany for producing incredible value wines, discovered a beautiful piece of land. The climate is typical of southern Mediterranean islands, with mild winters and hot, dry summers, alleviated by breezes from the Ionian Sea which, thanks to Zisola’s elevation, bring a cooling influence.
