Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Masseria Borgo dei Trulli ‘Mirea’ Primitivo di Manduria 2021 delivers the quintessential power and opulence of old-vine Primitivo from Manduria. Inky garnet in hue, the bouquet is intensely aromatic—ripe blackberry, black plum, fig jam, and Morello cherry, with accents of mocha, sweet spice, vanilla, and a hint of balsamic and licorice. The palate is full-bodied and lush, with silky, enveloping tannins, elevated alcohol, and profoundly concentrated flavors of dark fruit compote, chocolate, espresso, and warm spice, leading to a rich, lingering finish. This wine’s depth, polish, and velvety mouthfeel make it a showstopper for lovers of bold Southern Italian reds.

The wine is only produced in the best vintages for approximately 20,000 bottles.

Masseria Borgo dei Trulli has purchased vineyards in the best viticultural areas where the primary grapes cultivated include Primitivo and Negroamaro. Surrounded by old vines, in its unique location, new State-of-the-Art winery was built where it can produce excellent wines from the proprietary vineyards.

The winery is in the Commune of Maruggio, in the subdivision of Roselle. It lies approximately 5 km from the Ionian Sea and in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP area. The winery has been built in full respect of the land, its surroundings and its traditions, next to an old run down Masseria which has been rebuilt and incorporated into the winery itself.
