Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Made from hand-tended parcels in high-altitude vineyards with limestone-clay soils, this wine captures the essence of the region's unique terroir.

The 2020 vintage was warm and ripe, producing structured wines, but the high-elevation sites preserved the freshness and aromatics. The wine is sustainably farmed and crafted using a low-intervention approach, with hand-harvesting ensuring the highest quality fruit. Aged for 12–15 months in older French oak barrels (minimal new wood), the emphasis is on preserving the fruit and terroir, allowing the purity of the grapes to shine through.

The wine presents a brilliant medium ruby color and offers a lively, linear profile, with fresh red fruit flavors and a touch of "alpine" verve. Domaine Pierre Boisson Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Rouge “La Couleur Vraie” 2020 is already supple and drinkable, with an energetic, crunchy character, but also has the potential for 5–7 years of cellaring. This is a classic high-altitude Burgundy, energetic and fresh, with an outstanding balance between structure and drinkability.
