Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Eric Forest Pouilly-Fuissé “L’Âme Forest” 2017 is a refined, terroir-driven white from Domaine Eric Forest, one of the Mâconnais’ most exciting rising-star growers. Crafted from select old-vine parcels—most notably Les Crays—the wine is rooted in limestone-rich soils that give precision, depth, and mineral lift.

The 2017 vintage was classic and balanced, with lower yields delivering ripe fruit alongside vivid acidity. Vines aged 55–90 years bring natural concentration and complexity. Sustainably farmed, hand-harvested, and made with minimal intervention, the wine shows a clear medium-gold hue and is aged 12–15 months on fine lees, primarily in older French oak with a small portion of new barrels—adding gentle texture and subtle toast without masking terroir.

On the palate, it’s mineral, textured, and elegant, marrying Meursault-like breadth with the energy and clarity of Pouilly-Fuissé. Expressive now for its fruit–mineral interplay, it will gain richness and nuance with 5–10 years of cellaring.

Limestone-rich soils—especially in parcels such as Les Crays—form the backbone of Eric Forest’s distinctive style.
