Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Domaine Sébastien Dampt Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2019 embodies the purity, minerality, and precision that are the hallmarks of Fourchaume. Pale straw-gold in color, the nose is vibrant and layered with green apple, lemon zest, white peach, and wet stone, underpinned by delicate notes of acacia and oyster shell. The palate is medium-bodied and taut, featuring bright, tangy acidity, a silken texture, and flavors of citrus, orchard fruit, and saline chalky minerality, leading to a long, racy, and harmonious finish. Classic, focused, and age-worthy, this is a brilliant expression of premier cru Chablis.

Sébastien Dampt is a rising star of Chablis. He is part of a dynasty that has been making wine in the region for over 150 years. Having studied in Beaune and gained experience around France, he returned to work for the family Domaine in 2005 alongside with father Daniel and brother Vincent.

In 2007 he took 7ha of family land and created an estate in his own name based in Milly to west of Chablis. Nestled between the 1er Cru vineyards of Côte de Léchet and Vaillons in the south-east of Chablis, Domaine Sébastien Dampt stretches over 7 ha of some of the most sought-after terroirs in the region. Sebastien set up his Domaine in 2007, after working closing with his father Daniel and brother Vincent at Domaine Daniel Dampt.
