Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Pierre Boisson Auxey-Duresses Blanc “Les Cloux” 2021 is a striking white wine from the Auxey-Duresses appellation, crafted by Pierre Boisson, a family estate also known for the Boisson-Vadot wines of Meursault. Les Cloux, a prized single-vineyard plot, sits on stony, limestone-rich clay soils just west of Meursault, offering a terroir perfect for producing mineral-driven whites with impressive purity and freshness.

The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was cool and challenging, with significantly reduced yields, but the result is a wine of outstanding aromatic purity, tension, and freshness. The estate employs sustainable and low-intervention farming methods, with hand-harvesting to ensure the highest quality fruit. Les Cloux is east-facing with well-drained limestone/clay soils, contributing to its crisp, mineral profile.

The wine presents a pale gold color with green highlights and brilliant clarity. Aged for 12–15 months in used French oak (very little to no new oak), the emphasis is on preserving the wine's purity, tension, and the expression of the terroir, rather than imparting any toastiness.
