WSET Level 3 Experience
Course Outline:
- - Detailed understanding of viticulture and winemaking techniques
- - Comprehensive knowledge of principal wine regions of the world
- - Recognition and assessment of key grape varieties and wine styles produced worldwide
- - Advanced wine description using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
- - Practical principles of professional wine service and food and wine pairing
Course Duration: The course is designed to be completed in nine weeks, including a combination of guided study hours and personal study time, culminating in an exam.
Course Assessment: The course assessment consists of two parts - a theoretical examination comprising 50 multiple-choice questions and a short written answer paper, and a practical tasting examination of two wines. Participants are required to achieve a minimum of 55% in each part within the allotted time to pass the examination.
Entry Criteria: The course is open to everyone. However, it is recommended that participants have passed WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or can demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge. It is important to note that participants must be of legal drinking age to partake in any wine tasting sessions.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be awarded the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, a certificate, and a lapel pin, signaling a high level of wine knowledge and tasting skill.
