Corked Wines

While we make every attempt to provide wines of good quality and provenance, we cannot guarantee the personal 'drinkability' for every bottle we sell. It is the industry standard that older wines are purchased "as is" and at the buyer's risk as to the drinkability of the wine. This policy includes "corked" wines (those tainted with TCA and smell of wet cardboard). This wine fault occurred during the cork selection process and is completely out of our control. For the aforementioned reasons, no refund or exchange will be granted.

Located on the limestone-rich slopes of the Côte d'Or escarpment, Meursault's sites are blessed with classic Burgundy terroir. The wine is produced from old vines (between 50 and 75 years old) Chardonnay coming from a small parcel of 1.63 acres in the village of Meursault where practices sustainable farming. Soil is well-drained clay-limestone composed of Jurassic limestone screes. After a static clarification, the grape must is put into French oak barrels (1/3 renewed each year) to start the alcoholic fermentation. It stays in barrels for 13 months. It is slightly filtered before bottling. 

Domaine Pernot-Belicard is one of the new realities of Burgundy that launched in 2009. This small Domaine of 6 hectares is located in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet. In the vineyards, he cultivates the soils, de-buds aggressively and takes pains to retain his old vines in good health. The grapes are harvested by hand, with Philippe and are typically among the earlier pickers in the village.

Since2014, there's more sorting, the grapes passing over a shaker table before being whole cluster pressed. The approach in the vineyard is through the lutte raisonnèe and noherbicides.

The wines of Pernot Belicard wines are known for its cool, vibrant fruit from Puligny and Meursault that finely showcase the minerality and richness of these two areas.
