Champagne

Champagne is a sparkling wine that was created and is produced in the Champagne wine region of France in accordance with the appellation's rules, which call for particular vineyard practices, the use of only grapes from certain locations therein, particular grape-pressing techniques, and secondary fermentation of the wine in the bottle to add carbonation.
The vast majority of Champagne is made from the grapes Pinot noir, Pinot meunier, and Chardonnay, however small amounts of Pinot blanc, Pinot gris (known as Fromenteau in Champagne), Arbane, and Petit Meslier are also vinified.
